Must–buy games

Writing about web page http://snipurl.com/9jb2
Well out of that list I posted nearly a month ago, only Sims2, CoD2 and FFXI are available, and I’ve made an Amazon list (see snipurl link) of all the games it seems I cannot do without. Not that it’s my birthday soon, or anything
Prob give CoD2 a miss for a while, and have only just ordered FFXI (that Amazon ’1-click order’ is going to ruin me). Bought Sims2 and am quite liking it, bought Burnout 3: which was absolutely brilliant – for a weekend. Having a bit of trouble with Amazon as my ISP seems to be trying to ban all .co.uk addresses – some nonsense about not having paid them for a year. (oops)
Sims2:
It looks a lot fancier, and the complete control over zooming and spinning is most welcome – but after having played all 8 incarnations of the original I would be very short-sighted not to expect imminent add-ons. The aspirations system is a nice addition, but I do find that I concentrate too much on their day-to-day wants and before I know it I’m needing a new generation to take over.
It’s really the same game all over again, with the control mechanisms tweaked to the level you’d expect today in any real-time strategy game.
Burnout3:
This really is a great game, as I have always been far better at crashing into the other cars than actually driving correctly (only in games, of course), but after having played it all weekend last week (the game counter said for a total of 20 hours, which can’t be correct, can it?) there’s not much left to do in it. There is an online mode, but like most games there is a vast difference between beating the computer and testing your skills against real people.
SAN ANDREAS ANYONE?

COMMENT:
It is the first item on the list. I have it now, and have been playing it all weekend.
COMMENT:
I like a game with a gripping story, like Deus Ex (1 or 2), or Thief: Deadly Shadows – they are really involving and exciting games.
COMMENT:
is there any other mafia games
COMMENT:
comments about what.
mafia is a really cool game i have finish the game and im wondering if there are any other mafia games out and if there is a nother mafia game coming out.
COMMENT:
Mafia wasn’t that well recieved, probably for the initial difficulty of the game I mentioned here: link
Even when it made it to the consoles a year or so later it was outshined (sales-wise) by the likes of GTA and True Crime – I think the period music and cars put a lot of people off too. I would love a sequel as I thought it was a phenominal game, initial annoyances that you couldn’t play it the same way as GTA were overcome when you thought about it: given the era the game was set in, how would you expect people in the streets and the police to respond to people crashing cars, running over people, punching passers-by and getting guns out in the street?
The damage inflicted on your was a little hardcore, considering how inaccurate the weapons were in your own hands, but the whole feeling of the game made it seem like a big epic movie, even if it was some black-and-white one you were never likely to watch.
I think a sequel could be economically nonviable, unless they can make it fairly cheaply without disappointing existing fans, but put “Mafia 2″ into google, and you’ll see there’s no shortage of speculation about the possibility.
COMMENT:
I’ve updated the page in the link at the top so it just has games I haven’t bought, in a Christmas-list style – there are some others, but not many, I’ve decided I don’t want, like NFSU2, Getaway2 and any more MMORPGs. Warhammer40k, TCM2004, SplinterCell:PT, Rome:Total War and .hack 2/3/4 I might want, but really I should stop looking at amazon’s recommendations and play the games I already have.
